This faceted amethyst Murano pyramid, is such a great example of 1970s Venetian glass. The whole point of the design was to show off geometric precision and super-saturated color.
The deep hue, sharp cut, and amazing clarity are huge giveaways that it was made using the high-quality sommerso technique. Which is all about controlled transparency and optical depth. Basically, it's a perfect little monument to mid-century glass mastery.
