This Maitland-Smith column is a total architectural statement. It’s heavy and hard to miss, pulling from that Neoclassical look but leaning into the bold, high-contrast materials that defined 1980s luxury.
The marble marquetry is really the standout feature here. Maitland-Smith was known for this kind of hand-inlaid veneer, and the two-toned geometric pattern on the pyramid base is incredibly sharp. It’s a great mix of old-school technique and a much more modern, graphic aesthetic.
